Russell to judge on Schools Choir of the Year competition

are pleased to announce that the 10th Songs of Praise School Choir of
the Year competition takes place at The Lowry Theatre in Salford in
February 2012
If you would like free tickets to be at either
recording and enjoy the performances of the young semi finalists from
the around UK, then you can apply now.
The Junior School Choir
competition will be recorded during the afternoon of Saturday February
11th and the Senior School Choir competition will be recorded during
the afternoon of Sunday 12th February, 2012.
Aled Jones will present the competition and the judges will be David Grant, Suzi Digby and Russell Watson.

Russell Watson. Born in salford, never imagined he’d someday be the world’s greatest tenor.
Winning Four Classical Brit Awards, Russell has now graced the stage of
some of the biggest venues in the world, “The Vatican, Sydney Opera
House, Carnegie Hall, and Old Trafford!. With his breathtaking voice,
he’s gracing the stage of Southport theatre, and becoming “A voice for
the children” to support the 25th Anniversary of ChildLine.
Janette
Monroe, also a crossover artiste has performed with Russell on many
occasions. Born in Wigan, Janette is a singer/songwriter with
compositions on Disney films and albums. Having international single
releases herself gave Janette the opportunity to perform all over the
world and for British Royalty.
The
Greg Francis Orchestra will be the accompaniment for the evening. Greg
from Blackpool has worked with some of the worlds leading orchestra’s
and has built up an enviable career scoring arrangements for film and
TV, including “Memphis Belle” and “Stars in their eyes”.
Steve
Royle, a Chorley lad, will be your host. A comedian and BBC Radio
presenter, Steve was voted “Entertainer of the Year” and has toured with
the likes of Peter Kay, and Steve Coogan.
