This additional information has been received about the Meridian Park Concert and Harewood . With thanks to Richard Atkinson
Just to clarify a few points covering both concerts:
- It will be possible
for people to visit Harewood House during the day as regular tourists and leave
their cars in the visitor car park whilst visiting the House and Gardens
before
accessing the concert site.
Parking for the concert is not officially opening
until 4pm but concerns had been expressed as to whether cars would have to be
moved at this time, they do not.
- Although both concerts are currently
showing as a 7-30pm start time this is not the official event start time which
is currently scheduled for 6pm.
The Headline acts will not be on stage until
after the 7-30pm time.
- Artists for Harewood House are - Russell Watson,
Camilla Kerslake, The Sound Power Orchestra, The Rodillian Singers and
Stagecoach Children's Choir.
The main event will be compered by ex Dr Who Colin
Baker.
- The Meridian Park event is the same except I don't think the
Children's Choir are present and Faryl Smith is performing instead of
Camilla.
- VIP £100 tickets include a glass of bubbly on arrival, buffet
food, a seat in a marquee but freedom to move within an enclosed area plus
priority parking.
They can be booked via myself or my wife Gill on 01924

- Gill and myself are also taking
advance orders for hampers provided by the respective catering teams but we
don't have the menu options available yet!

WATSON 'FEELING AMAZING' WITH NEWFOUND VOICE
Opera star RUSSELL WATSON is looking forward to the release of his
upcoming album - because he is
"feeling amazing" after winning his
battle with brain cancer.
The You Raise Me Up singer was left devastated in 2005 when
doctors discovered a pituitary gland tumour, which returned
two years
later. He survived a life-threatening operation in 2007, but surgeons
were unable to remove all the tumour.
Watson admits the treatment left him unable to hit the high notes
he had previously achieved - but he's delighted with the
sound of his
new record, which is due for release later this year (10).
He tells chat show host Alan Titchmarsh, "I came to the studio
today and I was feeling a bit apprehensive. It's like getting
back on
the saddle again and getting back to work. That in itself is a fight
but vocally at the moment I am feeling amazing.
"I've now signed a new deal with Sony and we release a record in
probably November this year. The fans will be pleased
to hear this as
there was a period
where I wasn't singing the classicals - it was a big
strain with the tumours I had - but it's going to be a classical
record."

Manchester has been selected as the ‘Best UK Destination’ by a panel
of conference industry experts at International Confex - an annual
exhibition held in London for event organisers.
The award
recognises Manchester as the UK’s perfect host destination for staging
major conferences and events. Visit Manchester was attending Confex
along with over 30 of the city’s leading hotels and conference venues.
Andrew
Stokes, chief executive of Marketing Manchester, said: 'We’re
absolutely delighted that Manchester has won this award. Conferences
and events bring a great deal of economic benefit to the region and
this kind of recognition will ensure that our corporate events industry
remains strong.
'Manchester is an appealing location for
conference organisers, with its dedicated conference quarter and a
whole range of exceptional venues. Confex helps us to communicate that
message to the industry and will help us to secure important business
for the future.'
To capitalise on the presence of the
international conference industry in London, Visit Manchester held a
separate showcase of the city - Manchester Live - which took place at
Kensington Roof Gardens and attracted over 500 of the world’s top
conference buyers and events organisers.
Manchester’s own
Russell Watson performed an exclusive set for the invited guests. The
aftershow party offered the chance for the industry to meet with
Manchester’s hotels, conference venues and event suppliers.

7 Jan 2010
The
Bupa Great Manchester Run is to be broadcast live on BBC television for
first time, confirming its position as the premier 10k running event in

of
runners taking part for a variety of good causes will be transmitted to
the nation in a special 90 minutes live broadcast on the morning of
Sunday, May 16th.
There will be a distinct musical theme to this years Bupa Great
Manchester Run, with Guitar legend and founding member of New Order and
Joy Division, Peter Hook, Russell “The Voice” Watson and
recent X
factor semi-finalist Danyl Johnson all planning to take to the streets
of Manchester in May.
Peter, who will be taking part to represent event partners
Manchester City Council’s chosen charity, the Christie and Russell, who
supports the Kirsty Club, made their debuts over the 10k distance in

Peter said: “It will be an honour to take part in this year’s Great

run in support of The Christie, a world leading cancer centre right
here
in Manchester.
“I had the time of my life when I ran last year. I thought I'd done
everything, but the depth of love, hope and support shown on the day
left me breathless. It was a great day for great people for a great
cause,
and very important to all of us.”

Russell
Watson’s life has never been short on drama, whether it’s a
breakthrough performance of Nessun Dorma at Old Trafford, the amazing
success of his multi-million-selling
albums or battling his way back
from two tumours. His genre-defying appeal as strong as ever, he
remains one of the world’s top classical crossover artists.
In
his RTÉ Concert Orchestra début last year, he was showered with flowers
and gifts by an adoring audience. Now, joined by a guest choir, ‘The

‘Watson is a singing
